AMATO OFFICIALLY ENTERS STATE’S ATTORNEY RACE

October 12, 2015

Sycamore, Illinois. Local attorney and former assistant state’s attorney, Rick Amato formally announces his bid to become the next DeKalb County State’s Attorney. Rick looks to reshape how the county prosecutes its cases by focusing the energies and attention of the office on prosecuting the most serious cases. Rick believes such a strategy will discourage those persons seeking to come into our communities and doing harm to our citizens. He further wants to stop the delays that often result in cases remaining unresolved for years. The number of dismissed cases due to witness indifference should be greatly reduced, through increased speed and efficiency. Further, serving the needs of victims of crime will be central to Amato’s office. Victim outreach will occur from the very beginning of the case to improve victim involvement and protection. Finally, Rick will effectively team with local and regional law enforcement to promote a seamless prosecution of all matters. Increased communication with law enforcement will aid in improving the efficiency and speed of case prosecutions.

Rick began his career as an assistant state’s attorney in the DeKalb County State’s Attorney’s Office in 2003. He has been the managing partner of Sycamore based, Law Offices of Amato and Sheen, P.C. for the last ten years. He has grown his business from a small satellite office into a regional leader. Amato has expanded his firm to three fully staffed law firms that serve Boone, Carroll, Champaign, DeKalb, Grundy, Kendall, Lake, LaSalle, Lee, McHenry, McLean, Ogle, Peoria, Stephenson, Tazewell and Winnebago counties.

Amato and his wife Renee, who is a lifelong resident of DeKalb County, reside in Sycamore with their two children.
